GL Accountant

ALK is on an ambitious journey to become the preferred allergy company globally. Traditionally, ALK has been a strongly marketing and process driven organization. With a rapidly changing healthcare environment, subsequently leading to increased dynamics within global marketing, there is a need to be more closely linked to the local customer needs and allergy markets. In order to do so, we are looking for a new colleague to join our GL Team in European Accounting Center, a part of ALK GBSC in Poland.

GL Accountant is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.

While working at this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily GL postings, including the upload of payroll files, recurring documents and re-postings
  • Daily upload of EBS and MC bank files into SAP
  • Daily posting of bank files and monthly balancing of bank accounts
  • Performing Intercompany reconciliation and balancing
  • Running Netting process
  • VAT calculation, reporting and balancing
  • Preparing various statistic declarations including Intrastat and EC Sales
  • Performing P&L check analysis
  • Process Fixed Assets transactions
  • Running Currency revaluation
  • Performing YEC tasks including BCS notes
  • Month End tasks according to MEC calendar
  • Preparing Balance sheet accounts reconciliation according to the checklist
  • Performing Internal Controls- prepare, send and archive
  • Supporting Audit processes
  • Solving queries with Local Finance
  • Maintaining up-to-date process documentation
  • Involvement in Continuous improvement/Standardization/other projects

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor, Master or equivalent education within finance, preferably in accounting area
  • Experience from a function within accounting in a larger company, Finance SSC or group function is a must
  • SAP experience will be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communications skills
  • Attention to details and high level of accuracy
  • Well organized, meticulous
  • Very good English skills (written and spoken)
  • Honest, trustworthy, and respectful
