Solutions Architect

With 100 years of history, ALK is on an ambitious journey to become the preferred allergy company globally. Since 2018, we have been investing heavily in digital consumer-facing activities, and in 2022, we began focusing on expanding digital prescribers (doctors) base. Since then, we are working on infrastructure projects to connect our B2B and B2C ecosystems, enhancing the overall web & app experiences.

Our newly established Digital Customer Engagement & Digital Excellence department takes a holistic approach to consumer and doctor interactions, ensuring the right patient meets the right doctor at the right time. Through web engagement tools, apps, webinars, and innovative partnerships, such as AI chatbots on allergy clinic websites, we aim to provide simple yet effective solutions for people living with allergies and the doctors who treat them.

The team operates globally in markets such as Germany, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Canada, with more to come. To support this journey, we’re looking for a new Solution Architect to join our Digital Customer Engagement team. 

The position

As a Solutions Architect, you will become an integral part of our dynamic Digital Customer Engagement team, comprising over 25 dedicated members who operate in a hybrid organization globally. This role is based in Krakow, Poland.

You will be at the forefront of decision-making, driving the development of our overall technical architecture. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in various frameworks and your insatiable curiosity to keep us ahead of the curve. By translating complex business needs into innovative technical solutions, you will play a crucial role in seamlessly integrating new technologies while optimizing our existing stack.

In this position, you will work closely with developers, product managers, project managers, and our agency resources to define and modify requirements and functional specifications for both existing and new projects.

Your area of responsibility:

  • Designing and modifying technical architecture/ software solution and testing how they are working together.
  • Make key decisions on large technical projects, maintaining overall responsibility for the technical infrastructure and its continuous improvement.
  • Spar with external agency technical teams on overarching technical architecture decisions and generally anchor the decisions made
  • Provide guidance and support to internal technical resources
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues related to the solution
  • Continually research current and emerging trends to identify where we can enhance and/or make changes to better improve our current state
  • Asses the business impact of certain technical decisions – being able to articulate the trade offs for a given direction
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions that fit within the existing stack of technology
  • Maintain all technical documentation across stack

Your qualifications:

For you to be successful in this role, you should be able to fully integrate with the business teams and technical product teams – ensuring that we’re always solutioning optimally, no matter the project type. Success will be shouldering the decision making across the technical landscape and ensuring work is executed as intended.

We imagine that you bring:

  • Proven work experience as a solutions architect and/or a full stack developer
  • Sound knowledge of the following technologies and concepts: React (Native), API’s, Azure, Google Cloud, WordPress
    • Ideally also Laravel, Shopify/Liquid, Braze, Veeva, serverless, omni channel/martech, [BB2] 
    • A general interest in learning new frameworks
    • Ability to communicate complex technical problems to business leaders
    • Comfortable working in an environment with multiple product owners for varying experiences as well as an agency partner that anchor much of the technical development
    • Effective and efficient communicator with proficiency in English
    • Natural curiosity and interest in solving business challenges through technical solutions
    • Able to work across competing priorities
