Lead/Specialist Research Scientist within Bioassay development and preclinical PK/PD analysis

At ALK, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals suffering from allergic diseases. We are currently seeking a scientist experienced in bioassay development and pharmacokinetic (PK)/pharmacodynamic (PD) analysis to join our team.
The team is part of the Drug Discovery department and is involved from the early drug candidate identification to the late preclinical phase. The responsibilities of the team include biochemical characterisation of drug candidates and the development of bioassays for PK and PD analyses to support the drug discovery and early development. You will play a critical role in characterizing drug candidates and developing various bioassays, ultimately advancing drug discovery and early development, allowing you to collaborate cross-functionally and across various domains of expertise.

Your primary tasks will be:
- Develop, optimize, and qualify bioassays for preclinical studies, according to regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
- Responsible for the conduct of PK/PD bioanalysis including data analysis.
- Formulate bioanalytical strategies to support drug discovery projects and early clinical development plans.
- Collaborate closely with our Data Science team to support PK/PD modelling and simulation.
- Provide PK/PD expertise in cross-functional teams, including contributions to global clinical development plans.
- Ensure scientific input to PK/PD-related sections in regulatory documentation.
Your profile
We expect that you have:
- PhD, in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical science, or related disciplines, ideally with more than 5 years’ experience from industry.
- Proven expertise in design, development, and optimisation of bioassay
- Expertise in PK analysis using relevant software e.g. Phoenix WinNonlin, Matlab etc.
- Industry research background and interest in understanding PK data in the context of complex biology.
- Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Skilled in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared goals.
- Good interpersonal and strong communication skills, fluent in English.
- Scientifically minded, curios and with an innovative mindset.
- Knowledge of and experience with cell- based potency assays is an advantage.
