Fullstack Developer

With 100 years of history, ALK is on an ambitious journey to become the preferred allergy company globally. Since 2018, we have been investing heavily in digital consumer-facing activities, and in 2022, we began focusing on expanding digital prescribers (doctors) base. Since then, we are working on infrastructure projects to connect our B2B and B2C ecosystems, enhancing the overall web & app experiences.

Our newly established Digital Customer Engagement & Digital Excellence department takes a holistic approach to consumer and doctor interactions, ensuring the right patient meets the right doctor at the right time. Through web engagement tools, apps, webinars, and innovative partnerships, such as AI chatbots on allergy clinic websites, we aim to provide simple yet effective solutions for people living with allergies and the doctors who treat them.

The team operates globally in markets such as Germany, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Canada, with more to come. To support this journey, we’re looking for a new Full Stack Developer to join our Digital Customer Engagement team.

The position:

As a Regular Full Stack Developer: you will become an integral part of our dynamic team, collaborating closely with our solution architect, dedicated front-end developer and global agency partners. This role is based in Krakow.

You will be driving the development of our overall technical solutions across various CMS platforms, integrations and services. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise and curiosity to keep us ahead of the curve. Your work will focus on backend development in a few PHP frameworks depending on the project, but it would be good that you could take care of basic frontend development in HTML, Twig and javascript.

In this position, you will work closely with developers, product managers, project managers, and our agency resources to define and modify requirements and functional specifications for both existing and new projects.

MAIN TECH STACK:

1. PHP (Symfony/laravel/wordpress)
2. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, React
3. REST API and API integrations

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Develop and maintain internal CMS platforms and applications:

• We look for a team player that knows how to work on projects in multiple tech stacks.
• You will mainly focus on creating in-house solutions for managing multiple websites in multiple languages and regions, but you may also help with existing projects based on WordPress, Drupal or Shopify.
• While we’re rapidly growing we will look for most fitting solutions and optimize our applications architecture, infrastructure and tech stack.

2. Develop and Maintain Integrations with External Systems:

• Develop and maintain scalable APIs and web services to facilitate efficient data transfer and integrations with external systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to ensure seamless data flow.
• Coordinate the integration of CRM systems with external SaaS platforms.

3. Collaborate with internal team and Agency Partners:

• Work closely with the internal solutions architect, other developers and agency partners to seamlessly integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, ensuring smooth functionality and an exceptional user experience.
• Spar with external agency technical teams on overarching technical architecture decisions and anchor the decisions made.

4. Perform Thorough Testing and Documentation:

• Perform thorough testing of back-end systems to ensure reliability, stability, and optimal performance.
• Contribute to the documentation of system architecture, technical specifications, and deployment processes to ensure clarity and facilitate seamless collaboration.

Your qualifications

We imagine that you bring:

• Proven work experience as a full-stack developer with a strong emphasis on web development.
• Ideally, also experienced with CMS platforms.
• Proficient in developing robust web applications using PHP, preferably with Symfony or Laravel, focusing on creating custom solutions tailored to unique project needs.
  Wordpress development experience is a plus.
• Skilled in front-end development best practices, with the ability to deliver responsive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance engagement and user experience.
• Experienced in API integration to enable seamless communication between systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in optimizing website performance to improve speed and reliability.
• Comfortable working in collaborative environments with multiple product owners across varying projects and with agency partners that anchor much of the technical development.
• Effective and efficient communicator with strong proficiency in English.
• Capable of managing and prioritizing tasks effectively in the face of competing priorities.
