Fullstack Developer

With 100 years of history, ALK is on an ambitious journey to become the preferred allergy company globally. Since 2018, we have been investing heavily in digital consumer-facing activities, and in 2022, we began focusing on expanding digital prescribers (doctors) base. Since then, we are working on infrastructure projects to connect our B2B and B2C ecosystems, enhancing the overall web & app experiences.

Our newly established Digital Customer Engagement & Digital Excellence department takes a holistic approach to consumer and doctor interactions, ensuring the right patient meets the right doctor at the right time. Through web engagement tools, apps, webinars, and innovative partnerships, such as AI chatbots on allergy clinic websites, we aim to provide simple yet effective solutions for people living with allergies and the doctors who treat them.

The team operates globally in markets such as Germany, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Canada, with more to come. To support this journey, we’re looking for a new Full Stack Developer to join our Digital Customer Engagement team.

The position:

As a Full Stack Developer: you will become an integral part of our dynamic team, collaborating closely with our dedicated front-end developer and global agency partners. This role is based in Cracow.

You will be at the forefront of decision-making, driving the development of our overall technical architecture across various CMS platforms, including WordPress, Drupal, and Shopify. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise and curiosity to keep us ahead of the curve.

In this position, you will work closely with developers, product managers, project managers, and our agency resources to define and modify requirements and functional specifications for both existing and new projects. You will mentor our internal front-end developer and ensure smooth collaboration between all stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead WordPress Web Development:

• Oversee the development and maintenance of WordPress websites.
• Write code, build prototypes, proactively resolve issues, analyze bottlenecks, and debug to ensure the robustness of back-end systems.
• Ensure best practices in coding, security, and performance optimization.
• Test and validate how different components interact within the architecture.
• Ensure scalability and reliability of technical solutions.
• Work with the team to identify new features and improvement opportunities.
• Devise implementation plans to enhance system performance and user satisfaction.

2. Develop and Maintain Integrations with External Systems:

• Develop and maintain scalable APIs and web services to facilitate efficient data transfer and integrations with external systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to ensure seamless data flow.
• Coordinate the integration of CRM systems with web platforms.

3. Collaborate with Front-End Developer and Agency Partners:

• Work closely with the internal front-end developer and agency partners to seamlessly integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, ensuring smooth functionality and an exceptional user experience.
• While leading WordPress development, support the development of other CMS platforms like Drupal and Shopify in collaboration with agencies.
• Spar with external agency technical teams on overarching technical architecture decisions and anchor the decisions made.

4. Mentor and Support Internal Technical Resources:

• Provide leadership and guidance to the internal front-end developer
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

5. Perform Thorough Testing and Documentation:

• Perform thorough testing of back-end systems to ensure reliability, stability, and optimal performance.
• Contribute to the documentation of system architecture, technical specifications, and deployment processes to ensure clarity and facilitate seamless collaboration.

6. Performance Optimization and Scalability:

• Conduct performance audits and optimize infrastructure to meet scaling demands.

7. Perform Security Audits:

• Implement automated security and penetration testing tools,
• Regularly address vulnerabilities and apply patches to strengthen system security.

Your qualifications

For you to be successful in this role, you should be able to fully integrate with the business teams and technical product teams – ensuring that we’re always solutioning optimally, no matter the project type.

We imagine that you bring:

• Proven work experience as a full-stack developer with a strong emphasis on web development, particularly with WordPress.
• Ideally, also experienced with other CMS platforms such as Drupal.
• Proficient in developing robust web applications using PHP, preferably with Laravel, and WordPress, focusing on creating custom solutions tailored to unique project needs.
• Skilled in front-end development best practices, with the ability to deliver responsive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance engagement and user experience.
• Experienced in API integration to enable seamless communication between systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in optimizing website performance to improve speed and reliability.
• Comfortable working in collaborative environments with multiple product owners across varying projects and with agency partners that anchor much of the technical development.
• Effective and efficient communicator with strong proficiency in English.
• Capable of managing and prioritizing tasks effectively in the face of competing priorities.
