
Legal & Compliance Counsel

As the Compliance and Legal Counsel at ALK Spain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards within our operations while contributing to achieve the overall business goals. Reporting directly to the ALK Spain General Manager, and with a dotted line to ALK Global Legal, your responsibilities will include a range of compliance obligations and legal advisory functions. You will be instrumental in facilitating seamless coordination among various departments locally as well as with headquarters, acting as a vital liaison in matters of Transfers of Value, Compliance and ensuring Legal requirements adherence of our operations.

Fields of responsibility
- Ethical Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable ethical and penal regulations for all professionals dealing with prescribers, safeguarding ALK’s integrity and reputation.
- Compliance Officer Role: Assume compliance responsibilities as outlined in the established Legal Prevention Model for ALK Spain.
- ALK Representation: Serve as ALK’s representative in the Farmaindustria Legal Working Group, contributing to discussions on legal matters pertinent to the pharmaceutical sector.
- Legislation Surveillance: Monitor local legislation, ensuring that ALK processes are in compliance and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Legal Advice: Provide expert legal advice and prepare contractual agreements that comply with Spanish legislation, especially those involving value transfers to healthcare professionals or personal data treatment.
- GDPR Coordinator: Lead the management of data governance in accordance with GDPR, ensuring that data protection practices align with local and global regulations.
Your qualifications
- Background: We are looking for candidates with a legal and business foundation and a strong understanding of compliance requirements, ideally within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors. Ability to navigate complex legal scenarios efficiently should be proved.
- Education: A Law or Business Administration degree is essential; a combined degree is preferable to equip you with both legal and strategic insights.
- Experience: Previous experience in compliance or legal counsel roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or a regulated environment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Spanish legislation pertaining to healthcare professionals, Data Protection laws, and compliance frameworks.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions and levels within the organization. Detail-oriented is a must as well as strong analytical capabilities.
- Language: Fluency in Spanish and English is a must (C1 level required)
The location
The position is located at ALK’s site in Madrid, which is in the business area of Ciudad Lineal, very close to the center of Madrid. We have quick access to the Hermanos García Noblejas and Ascao metro stations and we also have a wide bus connection. The manufacturing center is located at Calle Miguel Fleta 19 while the Business Support area is in an annex building located in the Avalon Business Park. Nevertheless, we have a remote working policy that will allow you to work from home part of your time.
