




Patient Partnership Director

We are looking for a dynamic Patient Partnership Director to join our Global Chief Medical Office (GCMO), within the Global Research & Development organisation, in a newly established role to steer our strategies, champion patient engagement and ensure that the patient voice is integral to our decision-making processes.
The position
Located in Hørsholm, Denmark, this role will form part of the GCMO leadership team. You will report to the SVP, GCMO and work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, including Global R&D, Public Affairs, our affiliates, Patient Organisations and Patient Opinion Leaders.
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Drive Strategic Development: Lead the development and communication of Global Patient Engagement strategies and practices, ensuring alignment with GCMO and Global R&D strategies.
- Champion Patient Engagement: Advocate for the value of strategic patient engagement in supporting ALK’s business objectives and optimising product development.
- Collaborate with Public Affairs: Partner with the Public Affairs team to create advocacy initiatives that facilitate patient access to disease-modifying solutions for allergy disease management.
- Guide Project Core Teams: Provide expert guidance to Project Core Teams on incorporating of key patient insights into decision-making and project planning.
- Serve as Point of Contact: Be the primary liaison for identifying relevant Patient Organisations and Patient Advocates during the clinical drug development process.
- Align Activities Across Teams: Ensure coordination between Medical Affairs and Global R&D activities to present a unified approach to patient leaders and organisations, while building valuable and lasting partnerships.
- Develop Guidelines and Strategies: Develop Patient Engagement guidelines, conduct mapping of Patient Advocacy stakeholders, and develop strategies for engagement in Europe and the U.S.
- Ensure Compliance and Collaboration: Uphold consistent and compliant patient engagement practices across functions streamlining efficiencies and establishing best practices.
- Create Engagement Tools: Develop tools, including digital solutions aimed at strengthening patient engagement initiatives.
- Ensure Leadership and Representation: Act as a member of the GCMO leadership team, collaborating cross-functionally and representing ALK to patient leaders and organisations.
Your profile
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in the pharma industry, preferably in leadership or senior roles focusing on stakeholder engagement.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in a health-related discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical affairs, understanding the clinical development process and commercialisation of medical products.
- Experience in patient care and health education, health literacy is preferred.
- A track record of building impactful relationships with external experts and organisations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across functions and with external partners.
- A strategic mindset coupled with a proactive approach to challenges.
