Medical Science Liaison

We are seeking a motivated and scientifically grounded Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support our innovative product portfolio in the Netherlands. This field-based role bridges scientific insight with strategic execution and is instrumental in bringing our mission to life.

Your responsibilities
As MSL, you will serve as a vital link between ALK and the medical community. Your key responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), academic institutions, and clinical experts across the Netherlands.
• Delivering scientific presentations to healthcare professionals (HCPs), both in one-on-one settings and during medical forums, symposia, and clinical meetings.
• Translating complex clinical data into clear, evidence-based messages tailored to diverse medical and non-medical audiences.
• Identifying research collaboration opportunities and supporting investigator-initiated studies (IIS), educational events, and advisory boards.
• Monitoring competitor activities and generating insights to inform internal strategy.
• Supporting internal commercial teams by providing scientific updates and ensuring the integrity of medical messaging.
• Staying current with literature, treatment guidelines, and emerging data relevant to ALK’s therapeutic areas.
• Ensuring that all external scientific activities comply with local regulations, international standards, and ALK’s internal policies.

Your qualifications
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of scientific expertise and communication skills. You will bring:

• An advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, MSc, MD, or PharmD).
• Experience in a medical or scientific role within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in medical affairs or field-based roles.
• Sound knowledge of clinical research, medical science, and evidence-based medicine. Experience with immunology or allergy is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate science into impactful conversations.
• A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to shared goals.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English.
• A strong sense of professional integrity and understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks for scientific exchange.
