IT Senior Security Engineer

The position
As Senior IT Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping and safeguarding ALK’s cloud security landscape and raising IT security compliance both within the company but also towards our external partners. You’ll take charge of a broad range of tasks including:

• Designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions for our cloud environments primarily within Azure.
• Actively participate in technical design discussions for new projects, building effective bridges between IT and business functions.
• You will assist in security assessment to raise the overall compliance level according to CIS, ISO 27001, GDPR and NIS-2.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure colleagues and stakeholders, leveraging your expertise to secure and optimize ALK’s IT Security architecture.

Joining our Core Infrastructure & Security team, you will find yourself among a network of IT professionals stationed mainly in Hørsholm, Madrid and Krakow.

Your key responsibilities in this role will cover:

• Cloud Security Architecture: Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments [Azure/ AWS].
• Security Audits: Conduct regular security assessments and audits, document findings and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Policy Development: Develop, review, and enforce IT security policies and procedures related to cloud operations.
• Incident Response: Incident response activities related to cloud security incidents and work with cross-functional teams to mitigate threats.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess potential security threats to cloud resources and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging security technologies and methodologies. Implement best practices in cloud security and compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT and Line of Business teams to ensure seamless integration of security controls into cloud technologies and applications.

Your profile
To thrive and fulfil the area of responsibilities and work assignments you must have: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on cloud security and compliance.
• Certifications: Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security architecture and controls (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
  • Proficient in security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, IAM).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess security risks and develop solutions.
  • Communication: Fluent in written and spoken Danish and English, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
