This role is a key enabler of Europe’s medical strategy execution.

Purpose of the role:

  • Enable the execution of Europe’s medical strategy by translating medical priorities into coordinated cross-country and cross-functional delivery.
  • Act as a dedicated project lead for Europe’s top medical priorities by building and coordinating cross-country and, where needed, cross-functional squad teams with clear ownership, cadence and outcomes.
  • Protect focus at EU level by absorbing operational coordination and execution complexity, enabling senior medical leadership to focus on strategy rather than project micromanagement.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end planning and execution of regional medical projects via agile and efficient team deployment, delivering on agreed milestones and outcomes.
  • Manage small, high-performing cross-country and, where needed, cross-functional project teams fostering a strong team spirit and accountability for results.
  • Partner with all functions as needed (e.g. Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, global medical affairs) to ensure project alignment with regional and global priorities, and effective pooling of resources at both regional and local levels.
  • Monitor and communicate progress, interdependencies, and risks across all initiatives to relevant internal and external stakeholders, supporting transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Support the scoping and prioritization of new projects in collaboration with global colleagues, aligning on business impact, resource requirements, and implementation feasibility.

 

Required skills and capacities:

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, across functions and countries.
  • Strong executional power, demonstrated by a consistent track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time and within scope in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to navigate matrix organizations, resolve cross-functional dependencies, and drive collaborative success.
  • Able to shift focus quickly in response to changing priorities or emerging opportunities.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine or a related scientific discipline

  • Successful delivery and performance of regional medical projects.
  • Effective deployment and management of project resources across functions.
  • High engagement and trust with internal partners as well as external stakeholders.
  • Clear reduction of operational project involvement of the EU medical director.
