Lead Medical Scientist

The position
Global Medical & Science is a highly dedicated team leading the design, planning and management of clinical drug development, including directing the clinical strategy. In addition, the team supports with medical and clinical expertise external and to internal stakeholders.
We are looking for a new, passionate colleague who can contribute to the Global Medical Sciences team and responsible for the medical oversight of one or more clinical trials. We expect that you are a natural team-player, possess strong personal collaboration skills and have a proactive mind-set along with a high degree of cross-cultural awareness.
You will as the Lead Medical Scientist attend to these areas of responsibility:
- Collaborate on an ongoing basis with internal and external stakeholders within ALK’s global organization.
- Provide medical and clinical expertise to the development strategy for potential drug candidates from non-clinical to phase 1-4 clinical trials.
- Lead the trial design discussion and contribute to the protocol development and execution of clinical research.
- Provide the clinical perspective for individual trial reports and publications based on results from the clinical development program.
- Generate/review the content and quality of the clinical part of the submission dossier for market authorization applications, including the benefit/risk assessment.
- Present medical aspects of the clinical development program at internal and external meetings (including regulatory agencies, congresses, investigator meetings, etc.).
Your profile
You bring to this role:
- A medical degree in medical sciences, preferably with a scientific degree, e.g., PhD or doctoral thesis.
- Clinical allergy and immunology experience is a plus.
- Preferably more than 5 years of experience within field of expertise such as physician, specialist education, Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator assignments or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Previous experience with strategical and planning aspects of clinical trials and clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry is beneficial.
