Account Manager
Purpose of the role:
The Account Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding customer relationships within an assigned region in the Netherlands. The purpose of the role is to achieve sustainable revenue growth and customer satisfaction by advising healthcare professionals, promoting the use of ALK products, and positioning ALK as a leading partner in allergy diagnostics and treatment.
Position in the organization:
The Account Manager is part of the commercial team of ALK Netherlands and reports directly to the Senior Manager Sales. There is close collaboration with colleagues from Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Customer Service. The role has no direct managerial responsibility but requires strong coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the southwest region of the Netherlands
- Promote and sell the ALK product portfolio to healthcare professionals, with a focus on medical specialists.
- Advise healthcare professionals on the mechanism of action, use, and patient benefits of ALK products.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships within the assigned region.
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities and collaboration possibilities.
- Draft and execute account plans in collaboration with marketing and medical teams.
- Analyze market developments and translate opportunities into concrete actions.
- Organize regional meetings and training sessions for healthcare professionals.
- Represent ALK at congresses, symposia, and continuing-education events.
- Report activities and results in the CRM system.

Education and experience requirements:
- Completed paramedical, pharmaceutical, or commercial education (higher professional education level).
- Preferably experience in field-based roles within the pharmaceutical or medical sector.
- Knowledge of the Dutch healthcare market and a network of healthcare providers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Holder of a category B driving license and residing in or near the assigned region.
Working relationships Internal:
- Sales Management, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Customer Service. External: Medical specialists, general practitioners, pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, healthcare institutions, and professional associations.
