Global Medical Affairs Manager – Food allergy & pipeline

The position
You will be part of a dedicated team of medical-scientific experts, working within the Global R&D organisation. The Global Medical Affairs Manager will be collaborating closely with other functions across ALK, including Global Clinical Development, Global Regulatory Affairs & Drug Safety, Global Project & Portfolio Management, and the wider Global ALK Medical Network. The Global Medical Affairs Manager will be responsible for supporting sound medico-clinical basis for the clinical positioning and medical communication strategy for our peanut sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) tablet as the project transitions into phase III clinical development. In addition, the position will provide medical support for early pipeline projects. Furthermore, the role will provide support and direction for related medical education resources and provide informed medical input to commercial and reimbursement strategies.
The role may involve up to 20 days of international travel annually.
Your primary tasks will be:
- Contribute to develop, update, and maintain the global medical-scientific communication strategy plan for the peanut SLIT-tablet and early development projects.
- Provide support for the global food allergy publication strategy, including for the peanut SLIT-tablet.
- Contribute to support the global food allergy congress strategy and related company sponsored symposia.
- Support the global food allergy medical key opinion leader (KOL) engagement & advocacy strategy.
- Update and adapt the respective medical-scientific strategies you are responsible for based on medical insights obtained from the Global ALK Medical Network, including input from our field-based medical science liaisons.
- Supporting the development and medical legal review of promotional materials created by your commercial colleagues.
- Provide input to the phase III clinical development programme and regulatory affairs strategy for the peanut SLIT-tablets development project, as well as for pipeline projects as they approach Phase I development.
- Provide regular updates, including applicable key performance indicators, to leadership within the ALK R&D organisation.
Your profile
We expect that you have:
- Previous experience in a medical affairs role (or similar role, e.g., medical science) within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Academic background within life science - medical doctor is preferred but not a prerequisite, depending on level of experience within the medical affairs function.
- Vocational training and/or experience within the allergic disease field will be a significant advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple requirements and remain composed under pressure.
- Proven ability to work in teams, cross-functionally, and independently.
- High proficiency in preparing and presenting medical-scientific communications and scientific content.
- Strong scientific mindset while being able to provide key understandings and direction to both medical and commercial colleagues.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
