AP Accountant with Spanish

At 2014 ALK has formed European Accounting Centre located in Kraków. Now as ALK GBSC, with 64 FTE Polish unit is running 8 business lines across company global operations like IT, Accounting, Sales & Marketing, HR, Compliance, Commercial Excellence and Controlling. Due to the continuous development of our organization, we are currently looking for experienced AP Accountant, who will support and take responsibility for the AP process- Spanish market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for providing financial and administrative operations in order to:

  • Ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
  • Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

More specifically, at this position you will be responsible for:

  • Daily processing of Accounting mailbox: Mail and vendor statements
  • Invoice processing in SAP xFlow including VAT codes on all invoices
  • Payment processing of vendor invoices
  • Responsible for changes in master data on vendors
  • Balancing vendor module (AP) to the General Ledger (GL) in SAP
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions. (Balancing vendors quarterly and vendors with debit balance monthly)
  • Daily processing of vendor reminders
  • Daily Post processing incl. Accounting e-mail box
  • Full Month End process regarding vendor flow in SAP
  • Changes in release strategy in SAP/xFlow
  • Various month End tasks regarding vendors
  • Other month End tasks.
  • Communication with department managers, employees regarding specific issues related to the position
  • Strive to continuous improve the AP process within ALK
  • The role is assigned to Spanish market- knowledge of Spanish language at least at communicative level is also required

Requirements:

Education

  • Trained accountant or administrator within Accounting/Finance
  • Bachelor or equivalent education within Finance

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience within Accounting
  • Experience from a function within finance in a larger company, Finance Shared Service Center or group function
  • SAP experience (proven skills in AP)

  • Knowledge of accounts payable
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering Accounts Payable information 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee files
