AP/AR Manager

About the Role
ALK is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR) Team Manager to lead daily accounting operations for all European entities within the ALK Group. This is a leadership position for a finance professional who combines technical accounting expertise with a collaborative and service-oriented management style.

You will oversee a team of approximately six employees, responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor master data, and month-end closing activities. This is an excellent opportunity to make a measurable impact within an international, growth-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Manage, coach, and develop the AP/AR team to ensure high performance and strong engagement

  • Lead work allocation and conduct performance appraisals

  • Foster a culture of learning through ongoing training and development

Operational Oversight:

  • Ensure timely and accurate handling of AP/AR transactions and vendor master data

  • Maintain full compliance with SLAs and internal controls

  • Develop, document, and implement best practices across AP/AR functions

  • Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs

  • Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and process optimizations

  • Support system and process change projects across the AP/AR/VMD landscape

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with key internal stakeholders including Corporate Finance, Finance Business Partners, and local accounting teams

  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as vendors, customers, auditors, and financial institutions

  • Participate in daily operations to maintain continuity and promote team alignment

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in accounting

  • Previous leadership experience managing a finance team

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP (AP, AR, VMD/CMD modules) and invoice processing tools like XFlow

  • Experience with CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives is a plus

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong team-building and analytical thinking skills

  • Confident decision-maker with excellent communication abilities

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Solid understanding of accounting and VAT regulations

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

  • Displays cultural awareness, integrity, adaptability, and professionalism in leadership
