Global Medical Affairs Manager

The position
In Global Headquarters, you will be part of a team of medical-scientific experts, working in close collaboration with other functions within Global R&D and Commercial Operations, amongst others. The Global Medical Affairs Manager is responsible for designing and leading all aspects of medical-scientific communication strategy, interactions with key experts, medical education, and information, while facilitating exchange of information such as best practices throughout the affiliate medical organization. Importantly, the role will be responsible for analysing medical field data, and developing cross-functional strategies that drive continuous improvement and impact in medical engagement and communications. The position will also have a strong focus on the development and management of digital platforms to support medical education of ENT surgeons, respiratory physicians, and paediatricians. The role offers a unique opportunity to set the standard for future ALK digital healthcare interactions. Target audiences and key business partners for the position encompass management, product and commercial managers, alongside external stakeholders – e.g. healthcare organisations, physicians, nurses, and patients.

The role may involve up to 10% international travel.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Assess medical field data, including medical insights, to develop actionable strategies that drive continuous improvement and impact in medical engagement and communications.
  • Partner with medical education experts and healthcare professionals to develop, tailor, and enhance educational platforms, ensuring it meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Foster a culture of continuous medical excellence by implementing data-driven activities and maintaining high standards in all medical affairs initiatives.
  • Offer strategic guidance on the development and inclusion of content across external platforms, ensuring alignment with overall medical communication goals.
  • Organize and lead symposiums and webinars as part of the healthcare professional journey, enhancing knowledge sharing and engagement.
  • Set clear key performance indicators (KPIs) and map out priority focus areas and topics to ensure targeted and effective communication strategies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance engagement with healthcare professionals across multiple channels, optimizing reach and impact.
  • Offer strategic guidance on the development and inclusion of content across external platforms, ensuring alignment with overall medical communication goals. 

Your profile
We expect that you have:

  • Medical Doctor (Preferred), PhD, or PharmD
  • At least 2-3 years of post-qualification healthcare or pharmaceutical/medical device industry work experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Skilled at engagement and scientific exchange within the medical community.
  • Proven ability to work in teams, cross-functionally, and independently.
  • Experience in utilizing medical-scientific educational platforms.
  • Proficient in presenting and documenting complex medical concepts while effectively solving problems and demonstrating sound judgment and realistic understanding of issues and barriers.
